Let’s welcome Karis Meier to the show. Hello, Karis. Welcome to the show. It’s so great to have you here. Thank you. It’s great to be here. Oh, great. Thank you. So, Karis, if we can just start by just sharing with the listeners a glimpse into your journey, you know, like at what point did you realize or been diagnosed with this chronic illness, you know, and just a glimpse into the struggle which led to the inspiration to the writing that you’re doing today. Sure. So yeah, a little background. I mean, I was very healthy growing up, didn’t have any issues, played soccer and ran track through high school and college. And so it was actually on my honeymoon when I was 25 and I just started feeling quite sick, just feeling nauseous and feeling like I didn’t want to eat anything. and um it was a series so my husband is in the military so he when we got married we knew he was going to be deployed shortly after that he was living in alaska at the time so i moved up there um so there’s a lot of new things so you know the doctors were like oh maybe it’s just nerves maybe you’re just you know going through things that you know there’s that normal transition yeah things it happened to our bodies sometimes so yeah a couple months things continued to get worse and finally after several months found out that i had picked up parasites when i had been overseas visiting family in pakistan and so i was like okay well we can just get through this so um but the type of parasites that i had were very complex i didn’t you know just and by that time because they hadn’t been, you know, figured out diagnosed early. I had to go through lots of different treatment. And so about a year later, um, gotten rid of all the parasites, but I still hadn’t really gained my health back. I had lost a lot of weight in the process and just never really felt the same. Um, so started seeking out, you know, just different, different health practitioners, you know, different natural health things, different diets, try to figure out, you know, how can I, how can I get to be feeling healthy again? And so, and it was just, it was, it was kind of one thing after the other, but from that point on, I never, I never really got back to my normal healthy self. And it started leading me down this road of kind of one, a lot of organ problems. I had pancreas and kidney problems and heart problems. And, you know, I was very young too. So it was just all, all of a sudden, I wasn’t functioning like I should. And so I think in the beginning, you know, I thought, well, I’ll get through this, you know, I’ll eventually, I’ll just try to press on and keep living my life and it’ll be okay. And, you know, thankfully I was, at the time. You know, I had been raised in a Christian home and I had a relationship with God that really… Thanks for listening.
